The Process

At our beautiful institute in Newport Beach, California, The Landon Institute provides nationally recognized evidence-based outpatient treatment programs for addiction, rehabilitation, and recovery. Our Board Certified Physicians are extensively experienced in addiction recovery and rehabilitation. We believe in a comprehensive, whole-recovery approach to overcoming chemical and/or alcohol dependency that focuses on all three factors of health that addiction affects: physical, mental and emotional health.

Step 1. Detoxification: The Landon Institute offers four nationally recognized detox programs that manage the physical changes that occur in the brain & body after repeated drug use while providing the highest degree of comfort and support. We specialize in the safe detoxification of opioids (heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, hydrocodone vicodin, codeine, morphine, fentanyl, and many others), benzodiazepine’s (tranquilizers such as valium and xanax), alcohol, and more.

Step 2. Medication Assisted Therapy: Medication Assisted Therapy means a more comfortable detoxification for patients who, along with our Board Certified Physicians, feel Medication Assisted Therapy is right for them. Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) assists opioid dependent patients struggling with detox and cravings. Our Board Certified Physicians offer four evidence-based, FDA Approved medications as part of MAT. Patients find that detox is much easier, and more comfortable, than they thought possible.

With our multifaceted, comprehensive approach of Detox Programs, and addressing physical and mental health that patients are equipped to finally be able to begin a full and happy life free from addiction

Step 3. Physical Health: Physical health is commonly affected when alcohol and/or drug use has occurred. The body becomes deficient in minerals, internal organs are affected (most commonly the liver, heart, brain and pancreas), and sexual health and an unhealthy body weight are often associated and affected. The Landon Institute offers Complete Physical Exams to assess each patient's specific physical health needs. From that assessment we are able to repair and rebuild with IV Therapy, vitamins and supplements, provide therapies for sexual health and treatments for weight loss.

Step 4. Mental Health: The Landon Institute provides personalized Dual Diagnosis plans that address all underlying issues fueling the patient’s response to self-medicate with drugs and/or alcohol, leading to addiction due to unrecognized or poorly managed psychiatric or emotional disorders such as trauma, undiagnosed or undertreated ADHD, an anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, and/or other psychological issues. Our whole-recovery approach tackles these co-occuring, or dual, conditions from the start. WIth drug and/or alcohol abuse the patient’s brain activity is often affected. Depression commonly appears with, or following, many Detox Programs because the brain is no longer releasing serotonin properly. TMS Therapy recharges inactive areas of the brain to correct this. When we correct serotonin, the patient is much less likely to relapse. We have found this to be critical during the rehabilitation process and greatly improves the patient's quality of life.

Our Whole-Recovery Approach: It is with our multifaceted, comprehensive approach of Detox Programs, and addressing physical and mental health that patients are equipped to finally be able to begin a full and happy life free from addiction!
